Youth Service Projects
The youth group attempts to do a service project once a month. In May we did a car wash in Lafayette with all proceeds going to Riley's children's hospital. In June we ran the game portion of Vacation Bible School. We are called to be servants of the Lord whether we are a teenager or a senior citizen. This youth group is out in the community trying to be good servants of the Lord.
Sunday, November 18th, the youth group hosted the community worship service. Alice and Emma provided special music for us. We performed two skits. One had to do with counting our blessings, as there are always other people out in the world that have more trials then we have. The second skit had to do with being genuine with our thoughtfulness. Blake read the scriptures for us. Nate and Robby led music. Kate played the prelude, postlude and offertory for us. It was a wonderful evening of worshipping.
Friday, November 9th, we had 23 youth out working in the Rossville Area. We raked leaves for church members as well as doing random acts of kindness. We also cleaned up around our meeting place, The Rock. We ended the evening by eating at Arni's, and watching a movie at the parsonage. The Lord blessed us with beautiful weather. It was a great day!!
The youth group ran the games at the RUMC Block Party on September 22nd. We had 16 youth helping. A good time was had by all.
