Worship Service
We start our service at 10.15am with a few minutes of notices keeping us informed of diary dates etc, happenings with members of the community and special concerns or some may bring words of encouragement.
Our worship time consists of songs, Bible verses and a message from Pastor Rick. Everyone is welcome to participate in the worship in whatever way they feel comfortable.
There was a chill in the air outside, the crowd gathered inside expecting God to meet with us.
Jeff Need was leader of the opening section as announcements were made and the community began focusing on worship together. Mike R., Linda O., Carol M. and Barb W. each spoke about prayer concerns on their heart. Chad D. took the time to praise God for the good things in his life. Jeff closed this section of our worship service in prayer.
It was a chilly day as we gathered together for worship. The crowd was happy to see one another as we gathered as God’s children.
Rodney Lawrence led the opening announcement time. Frieda C, Janet R and Megan Z each discussed prayer concerns with the crowd.
It was a warm sunny Sunday morning. Everyone seemed to bring a great attitude with them as they gathered together for worship.
Rod Lawrence led our announcement time. Most of the talk was around the Walk Thru the Old Testament seminar that we were hosting that day.
Wanita T and Chris W were the only ones who discussed prayer concerns with the group.
The worship service was called to order. Vanessa Dotson was our liturgist of the morning. She invited the youth group to make an announcement. They did a skit to promote the dinner theater they will be hosting in 2 weeks.
It was a busy day this past Sunday. It was Jennie Carlyle Day. It was the day that we honored the member of our congregation that will be turning 103 this coming Thursday. The house was packed with all kinds of people from all over the state who came to honor Jennie.
LaVaughn Stong led this section of the service. She had special music in Jennie’s honor. Jennie recited a poem about friendship that she had written for this occasion.
Buzz Disinger was the Liturgist of the morning. He called our worship service to order.
It is finally starting to warm up here in Indiana. Folk seemed to be a great mood as they gathered for worship on such a beautiful day.
Jane E, Julie W, Buzz D, Phyllis H and Carol M each shared prayer concerns with the group.
It was Palm Sunday. Everyone seemed to enter the sanctuary with a sense of excitement and expectancy as each person was handed a palm frond.
Jeff Need led our opening announcement time. Kim N, Chris W, Linda O and Carol M were among the people who shared joys or prayer concerns.
Mary Gray was our liturgist of the morning. She called us to worship by reading from some quotes from Winston Churchill about how success and failure do not follow us throughout our life. But, she added that God does.
The sun was shinning. There was promise of warm weather in the air. The people gathered for worship with a spring in their step reflecting the feel of spring in the air.
Steve Gottschalk, our Lay Leader, was elected as the one to run the announcement time. This was his first time leading this activity. He did a great job.
Vanessa D., Dan C., Jane E., Blake R. and Betsy R. all talked about joys that they have seen in their lives this past week.
Blake R., Rod L., Rusty M., Carolyn H., Buzz D. and Steve G. all talked about prayer concerns in their lives.
It had been a snowy wintry week here in north-central Indiana. The sun came out on Saturday to melt most of the snow from the pavement. Folk felt good about coming out for church.
Rodney L did the opening section of our service. Anita L, Vicki R, Melissa H, Rusty M, Wilma G, Chris W and Jennifer L all shared prayer concerns with the gathered family.
Vanessa Dotson was our liturgist of the morning. She called us to worship by reading a quote from Sheila Walsh which asked if we really understand the concept of God’s invitation to us. It is a great gift offered to us.
Oh, was it cold outside! Oh, did everyone come in here with chilly fingers! Soon the friendly chatter of worshippers gathering together soon warmed all in the bond of love.
As folk took their seat they couldn’t help but to notice the many box, jars and cans of food stacked all over the front of the sanctuary. It was an impressive sight, whatever the purpose.
